Combining the rarity of materials with the purity of a silhouette with subtly curved angles, this piece of decorative art marries a dark brown shagreen marquetry top with an enveloping textured gilded brass structure. A masterful textural alliance.

A Duality of Precious Materials: Brass & Shagreen

The strength of this console lies in the contrasting encounter of two highly decorative textures:

The Wavy Shagreen Work: The top and the internal face of the console showcase genuine shagreen in a unique way. The stingray skins, dyed a deep brown with chocolate nuances, are assembled here with meticulous marquetry featuring sinuous wave-shaped cutouts. These undulating lines are highlighted by thin inlaid golden threads, creating captivating graphic movement along the entire length of the furniture's seating area.

Textured Gilded Brass: The outer edge and the slender tapered legs of the console are made of gilded brass. Far from a smooth and cold appearance, this brass benefits from a textured finish – almost hammered or sandblasted – that catches the light in a soft and vibrant way.

The Elegance of the Curved Line: Breaking the rigidity of the traditional console, the side uprights plunge towards the floor with remarkable architectural fluidity.
