Indulge in the absolute elegance of this exceptional shagreen console, by the high-end cabinetmaking house Ginger Brown. Combining the rarity of materials with the purity of a silhouette with subtly curved angles, this piece of decorative art marries a dark brown shagreen marquetry top with an enveloping textured gilded brass structure. A masterful textural alliance.

A Duality of Precious Materials: Brass & Shagreen

The strength of this console lies in the contrasting encounter of two highly decorative textures:

The Wavy Shagreen Work: The top and the internal face of the console showcase genuine shagreen in a unique way. The stingray skins, dyed a deep brown with chocolate nuances, are assembled here with meticulous marquetry featuring sinuous wave-shaped cutouts. These undulating lines are highlighted by thin inlaid golden threads, creating captivating graphic movement along the entire length of the furniture's seating area.

Textured Gilded Brass: The outer edge and the slender tapered legs of the console are made of gilded brass. Far from a smooth and cold appearance, this brass benefits from a textured finish – almost hammered or sandblasted – that catches the light in a soft and vibrant way.

The Elegance of the Curved Line: Breaking the rigidity of the traditional console, the side uprights plunge towards the floor with remarkable architectural fluidity. The profile of the base tapers with immense lightness as it approaches the floor.

Why it's a Masterpiece for a Collector

The Ginger Brown Signature: Globally recognized by the greatest interior designers, the French brand designs timeless pieces where mother-of-pearl, parchment, and shagreen push the boundaries of artistic craftsmanship.

An Unrivaled Touch: The characteristic beaded grain of shagreen creates an immediate and addictive tactile experience, typical of very high-end furniture.

Ideal Volume and Small Footprint: Thanks to its slender silhouette and shallow depth, it blends harmoniously into a majestic entryway, a master hallway, or as a support piece in a reception room without saturating the space.

💡 Stylist's Tip

"This Ginger Brown console is an ode to reflections and materials. To honor it, place it under a warm light source – like the feather lamp shown alongside it in your photos. The downward light will enhance the beaded grain of the shagreen and make the golden undulations of the top shimmer, instantly transforming the piece into a work of goldsmith's art."
