The Story of a Radical Icon

The Shiva vase was born in the early 70s from a trip to Barcelona, driven by passionate love. Influenced by his travels in the East and his discovery of Hindu spirituality, Ettore Sottsass merged the spirit of freedom of the era with sacred symbolism, reinterpreting the phallic form of the Lingam dedicated to the god Shiva.

Sottsass himself defined his ceramics as "small architectures... like small monuments." Defying the conventions of traditional pottery, its sleek silhouette and perfect symmetry immediately catch the eye. Its iconic candy pink color plays superbly with light thanks to a high-quality glossy glaze.
